The GWC Freestyle Clinic will introduce you to the world of space
Godzilla’s and phonic monkeys. The Freestyle Clinic is dedicated to taking
the paddler’s ability to a whole new level. This is where you are
introduced to the acrobatic side of kayaking. You will learn how to perform
stern-squirts, cartwheels and air-loops in a fun and safe environment. Our
instructors are no strangers to the competitive freestyle circuit. They
have competed against the best in national and regional competitions. Our
ACA instructors will start off each class with a video review session on how
to perform each maneuver. Next you will go to the water and try to put what
they learned in the classroom to work. While being on the water you will be
filmed so you can see what you are doing correctly and be able to see what
you need to work on for the next class. Each student will have a goal that
they will want to reach and it will be the job our instructors to teach them
the proper steps of progression for them to reach their goals on the water.
We provide a kayak, paddle, sprayskirt, PFD and helmet.
All participants must be able to swim and students must have demonstrated
a good roll with one of our instructors before attending this class.
A minimum of 3 participants are required. GWC reserves the right to
cancel the course if the minimum is not met.
