Recreational Rowing

This class is for individuals who have prior rowing experience, whether it was in high school, college or a community rowing program.  Participants will be coached in 4- and 8-person shells and will further develop basic rowing skills in a safe and fun environment.

Hundreds of people of all ages and backgrounds have participated in the GWC Recreational Rowing on the Genesee River and the Erie Canal.  Anyone who is at least 14 years old, knows how to swim and has taken a Learn to Row class is invited!

If you have the competitive spirit, Recreational members have the option to attend several local regattas: and may be able to travel to one or two other regattas depending on the year.  Recreational rowers are responsible for their own regatta fees and costs where applicable.

Prerequisites:
Learn-to-Row or equivalent Ages 14 and up

The Recreational Rowing classes are split up for Men and Women.  Women will row on Monday and Wednesdays.  Men will row on Tuesday and Thursdays.  Saturdays will be coed.

There will be no refunds unless a sickness or injury occurs within the first two weeks. Refunds must be promptly requested. A $50 administrative fee will be deducted from the refund.  There will be no credits for missed classes
