Sculling concentrates on rowing with an oar in each hand, and has become
a part of one of the fastest growing sports in America. Most scullers
row in a single or double rowing shell, allowing more independence with the
sport.
Learn to Scull
This introductory course concentrates on rowing using an oar in each
hand, which is referred to as ‘sculling’. Sculling gives you the
independence of rowing by yourself on your own schedule. Upon successful
completion of the course, you will have the necessary skills to join GWC as
a member and make use of GWC’s entry-level sculling equipment.
You will learn the basics of rowing and sculling, work with a group of
other beginners, and progress from rowing in a quad (four-person boat) to
rowing a recreational single.
Registration closes at noon on the Friday prior to the start
date. A minimum of 3 participants are required. 5 Student Maximum. GWC
reserves the right to cancel the course if the minimum is not met. Must be
able to swim.
